Mevlana (Rumi Jalalettin) was the great mystic founder of the Turkish order of the famous “giróvagos dervishes,” whose dance by turning on themselves leads participants to spiritual enlightenment. By the year 1244 Mevlana had an encounter with a drifter who marked for life in its path. That bum was a saint called Shams al-Din of Tabriz, who revealed last Mevlana experience of reality, leaving him in a permanent state of mystical ecstasy. Since then Mevlana abandoned any knowledge dogmatic and began to preach both the religious and racial tolerance, founding the order of dervishes.
